Studio MC is a music education centre now serving the Carp, Stittsville and Kanata North area. We are ORMTA registered, fully bilingual, and offer piano, violin, and theory lessons at a beautiful location in Carp, just a few minutes away from Kanata North, Kinburn, Dunrobin, Fitzroy Harbour, Almonte, and Stittsville. Piano lessons take place on a 100+ year old baby grand piano. Whether you are interested in studying popular music, or prefer following the standard RCM examination path, our proven teaching methods will give you the guidance and support you need to become a successful well-rounded musician (or at least able to play a tune at your next party).

Music has been a part of my life since the beginning. My mother was an accomplished pianist, organist and teacher, and filled our home with music on a daily basis. Following in her footsteps, I began piano lessons at age 5. I studied violin for 5 years at De La Salle Public High School, and played in the school orchestra, as well as the string ensemble.
In 1995, I obtained my Grade X Certificate in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). During my 4 years at Ottawa U, I took an array of classes. I studied piano with Andrew Tunis, piano duets with Douglas Voice and piano pedagogy with Cynthia Floyd. I also played in the Ottawa U Orchestra, as a second violinist. In June 1999, after 4 years at the undergraduate level, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music (B. Mus). Since May 2003, I have been a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ORMTA), as a Registered Music Teacher (RMT).
I have taught young children, teenagers and adults. My main goal as a teacher is to instill the love of music into my pupils as well as nurture their talent. For this reason, I aim to include a variety of mediums within the lesson. Each lesson is customized to the pupil. I feel the study of rhythm, scales, studies, as well as classical and popular repertoire is essential to form a well-rounded musician.

At Studio MC, we believe a higher quality education is important in today’s demanding and competitive world. But it is equally important to not lose sight of what really matters: Music is fun! As a result of this philosophy, we design our music training techniques to be innovative and educational, as well as being entertaining to the student.
Children and adults alike enjoy learning music with MC, and that’s why she enjoys teaching.
